Outback Lawn & Irrigation, LLC completed a landscape transformation for a homeowner in Waxahachie, TX, focused on refreshing tired flowerbeds and adding lighting to the entry path. We started by removing everything from the existing beds, clearing out old plant material, spent soil, and debris to create a clean slate for the new design.
Once the beds were cleared, our team prepared the soil and replanted the areas according to the plan agreed with the homeowner. The planting phase included careful placement and spacing so each new plant would have room to grow and thrive.
After planting, we installed a fresh layer of brown hardwood mulch across all the flowerbeds. The mulch gives the beds a neat, uniform appearance and helps with moisture retention and weed suppression. We spread it evenly to provide consistent coverage while maintaining proper clearance around stems and trunks to avoid contact that can cause rot.
To create long-lasting definition between beds and turf, we added an edging formed from Colorado river rock. The rock edging was laid to follow the lines of the beds and the path, creating a clear, natural border that holds the mulch in place and provides a finished look. The Colorado river rock choice complements the mulch color and adds texture along the landscape edges.
We also installed landscape lighting along the path to enhance visibility and showcase the new planting at night. The lighting was placed to illuminate the walkway without overpowering the space. Fixtures were positioned to provide safe routing along the path while keeping the overall look subtle and welcoming.
If you have similar flowerbeds that need a refresh, this project shows how a clear plan and a few targeted updates can renew curb appeal and create a more defined, usable yard. We focused on clean lines, consistent mulch coverage, and thoughtful lighting to give the space an immediate, finished appearance.
